Currently, businesses owned by women account for more than 23 million jobs; this sounds good, except when you do the math: these account for a mere three-trillion dollars of the US economy. As women, it is natural to want to distance ourselves from the male oriented rules of the game; those rules are not how we operate. In order to hold an advantage, be yourself, but never lose sight of how the other half plays. If there is something you don’t understand check with a favorite male, the one who is achieving what you want to achieve.

The numbers are equally revealing in the entrepreneurial and small business sectors. Yet, why do we continue to buy into some of these as grown women? As I reflected on that question, a few explanations came:

These are not social networks as women often have; male networks exist primarily for mutual business advancement and deal making. Seek out fellow women in business and become a mentor or get a coach or mentor when needed. Work to build alliances with others.
Women have a vital and growing role to play in the business world.
* To be strong with men and gentle with women
* To be a good provider
* To play to win
In contrast, from birth, girls are supposed to be sugar and spice and everything nice. We “nice” girls are taught:
* To be of service and place others above our own interests
* Don’t attract too much attention except for our physical beauty – image over substance
* Know our place and constraints and to not be too direct or discomfort males
* To be careful, dainty, refined, subservient and companionable
* To not be ambitious or aggressive and hide our talents to keep the peace
* To not be too strong or too courageous
* And a favorite, to ignore male rules and dominance and not play their games by using our “feminine wiles” games to get what we want….
When broken down into real numbers more than 8 million businesses are owned by women accounting for more than 23 million jobs. This sounds good, except when you do the math: these 8 million businesses account for 3 trillion dollars of the US economy. Sadly, that is only about 4 percent of the economy. When we look at growth by revenue, the gap is wider. In the latest Kauffman Firm Survey, surveying businesses three years from their startup dates, the data found “19.8 percent of the women’s firms reported annual revenues of more than $100,000 versus nearly 33 percent of the men’s firms. The average revenue of men’s firms was almost twice that of women’s, nearly $120,000 versus about $60,000.”

Women are already better educated then men

Why Do We Do Business Differently?
First and foremost,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], misunderstanding how males “play the game” begins not because there is something missing, ignorant or wrong with us; it is in the way / culture we were raised. Most of us, regardless of our generation, have been raised to be a “nice girl.” Let me explain. Men receive three basic perceptions.
As a long-time owner of several marketing and communication businesses I’ve been around long enough to see major changes in the way women (and men) view work. My formative years were influenced by Helen Reddy lyrics “I am woman, hear me roar… In numbers too big to ignore…” and television jingles telling me “…I can bring home the bacon and fry it up in a pan…” The novel idea that women can do anything a man can do including business was firmly implanted in my young brain. Women of the 70’s began to balance work and home with “Super Mom” set up as the ideal. It was a stressful goal. I was a serial entrepreneur long before entrepreneur was an everyday word and watched many of my friends struggle with not only that work/home balance but they faced the reluctance of the male dominated workplace to allow women to succeed let alone help them get ahead.
Our natural tendency to be a caretaker spreads us too thin. Women consciously or unconsciously choose a caretaker role. Both at work and at home, women often feel more responsible for everyone else’s well-being before their own. Men do not, other than to be a good provider. Manage people’s expectations. Delegate. Avoid the tendency to start doing right away. You don’t have to do it all,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], give some of the work away. Save your time for the decisions only you can make.

But enter the work force we did. Yet, why don’t the numbers reflect that women in business do as well as a man almost 40 years after women began to roar?

There is a chance to cure the patient of his eating disorders (though the duality of eating disorder plus the existence of a personality disorder is not favourable prognosticator of recovery). This - and ONLY this - must be done at the first stage. The patient's family or closest should consider therapy AND the patient's participation in support groups (the equivalent of Alcoholics Anonymous or a 12 step program for eating disorders). Recovery prognosis improves after 2 years of treatment and support. The family must be heavily involved in the therapeutic process. Family dynamics usually contribute to the development of such disorders.

Patients with eating disorders may be in mortal danger. Their behaviour is ruining their bodies relentlessly and inexorably. They might attempt suicide. They might do drugs. It is only a question of time. Our goal is to buy them time. The older they get, the more experience they accumulate,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the more their body chemistry changes with age - and the better their prognosis.
The patient views the world in terms of black and white,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], of absolutes. So, he cannot let go even to a very small degree. He (or she) is HORRIFIED - constantly - that even the slightest loosening of his rigid eating regime will fast deteriorate into a total loss of control over his life. This is why he finds it impossible to form relationships: he mistrusts (himself and by extension others),[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he does not want to become an adult,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], he does not enjoy sex or love (which both entail a modicum of a loss of control). Otherwise they are ashamed of themselves and disgusted by their shortcomings (expressed through shame and disgust directed at their bodies).

Here’s a common situation. You finally get a meeting with a senior or C-Level person. After the pleasantries you start telling how your product or service will be good for his company and/or better than the competitions’ stuff. He’s attentive for a few minutes. But you’re so focused on presenting or your standard spiel, you miss the fact that he’s bored. All of a sudden he’s ending the meeting and you’ve got nothing – no commitment, no interactive discussion, no follow-up meeting.
In summary, engage a C-levels or senior executives by making it all about them. Let each tell you what he wants and how he wants to get it. The more he does the telling,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the more engaged he’ll be.
So here are some tips to help you engage C-levels and other prospects.
Additionally, very few ever concentrate on learning from the executive why he wants to go ahead with a project or purchase. The Korean animation character Pororo the little penguin is catching the eyes of many global entertainment companies, with one reportedly offering Ocon, the show's producer, as much as W1 trillion for the goggle-wearing bird (US$1=W1,059).

The show will be adapted into a film to be released next summer. When you are doing things that promote comfort and joy, the stress just seems to melt away like an icicle on a warm winter’s day.
Reach out. If you are alone over the holidays, or they are an emotional time for you, call a friend and see if you can get together. Friends are there through joys and sorrows, and no, you won’t be imposing and if you are, you might want to take a closer look at your friendship.
Relaxation. The problem a lot of people face during their busy weeks, and especially during the holidays,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], is there isn’t enough time to relax.
There are so many ways to bestow onto others without breaking your budget, or overspending. You can bake cookies, or write a poem or letter of appreciation, or make a craft, or put a big red bow on yourself and offer to help out.
Take a bath,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], curl up and watch your favourite movie, play a board or card game, listen to music,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], meditate, light some candles, cook a comfort meal, have a cup of tea, etc.

Trying to please everyone leaves one feeling stressed, so choose events that mean the most to you and let the others go.

Often people feel obligated to go places and are afraid if they don’t others won’t understand or will be upset and, they very well might be.
Saying no isn’t the hard part. What can be difficult is the way you might feel when you do.
You can write down the compliments you received and the ones you gave.
Journal. Journaling doesn’t have to take a long time and is a wonderful way to end a busy or emotional day.
You can write about what you accomplished for the day, as well whether you helped someone else.
When you say no, you are really saying yes to you!
Just the thought of the holiday season can create a sense of panic and stress for many people.
Go for a walk or exercise. Believe it or not, if you go for a walk or exercise when you are tired you actually feel less tired.
When you take on too much it can leave you feeling tired, worn out and overwhelmed, but when someone helps,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], it allows more time for you to relax and enjoy the things you value most.
It doesn’t have to be that way. In fact, the holidays can be a very beautiful and peaceful time.
You have to make the time for you to be calm. You might even have to schedule the time by putting it on your calendar, or making sure each week there is some down time just for you. If you can’t commit to specific times or days, then at least take some time to sit quietly even if it’s only for a few minutes.

Comfort and joy. How much comfort and joy can you feel if you are stressed out and panicking about things?
When we are stressed our breathing becomes very shallow and comes from our chests rather than our stomachs.
You can jot down the things and people you are grateful for.
Asking for help isn’t a sign of weakness as you might think, it is one of strength, because you are recognizing the importance of taking care of you and that time can be better spent doing more of what you love.
When you reach out you are inviting in togetherness and you never know what can happen when you open your heart to others, perhaps yours opens a little more as well.
It’s amazing what a few deep breaths can do for you.
Most importantly, make a note of how you took care of you today and why it’s great to be alive.
Don’t forget to make YOU a priority this season; it’s up to you how stressful or enjoyable the holidays will be. Which will you choose?
Then there can be luncheons, dinner engagements, parties, gift purchasing,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], wrapping, decorating, baking, dinners to prepare and/or attend, etc., and can be extremely overwhelming and exhausting.
Breathe. Remember to pay attention to your breathing. Take a few deep breaths as often as possible; this relaxes the body and mind.

Even one’s talent or affinity for certain careers and hobbies can be revealed under hypnosis. Many souls have been involved in similar work for centuries. Knowing past skills or avocations and pursuing them has brought income and joy to many who were uncertain about career paths.
Clients have told me of flashes of memory that make no sense in their current life and knowledge of places both foreign and domestic they have never visited before. Yet when they visit these strange cites, they are inexplicably familiar with the streets and easily find their way around. Theses are possible indications of a past life.
A few years back…well actually more than a few… I practiced traditional therapy. I used to call it peeling the onion. It took months, even years to slough off layers of denial, misinformation, myths, fears and get to the often forgotten root cause of an issue. Although my clients’ efforts were highly productive,[link widoczny dla zalogowanych], the process seemed laborious. There had to be a better way, a more efficient method for accessing what lies beneath… in recesses of the subconscious.
Therapy provides a method but takes time. Hypnosis gets there quickly. "Are you willing to start to practice this?"

"Start paying attention to your feelings, and whenever you feel angry or resentful, notice what you are telling yourself and how you are treating yourself that is causing these feelings. I know you believe these feelings are being caused by others, but this is not true. They are being caused by your own self-abandonment: giving yourself up to please others; judging yourself; turning to alcohol to numb your feelings rather than taking responsibility for them; and blaming others for your feelings.
I used to say this to myself all the time. I was constantly giving myself up to please others, and then ended up feeling completely unappreciated and resentful - until I learned how to take loving care of myself and appreciate myself.

Jayden did practice and within a few months, he and his girlfriend re-united. She was able to tell him how much she loves him and how heartbroken she felt whenever he blamed her for his feelings. By learning to take responsibility for his own feelings and appreciate himself, he was surprised to discover that he now felt appreciated by her.
"I gave so much to my girlfriend and worked so hard at the job. I don't understand this. No one ever appreciates me," he said with a resentful whine in his voice. Jayden was obviously feeling like a victim of his girlfriend and his boss.
"Jayden, do you ever appreciate yourself?"
